New York State might pass an idiotic "microstamping" law in which an ID is stamped into a shell casing when a gun is fired.
But that is only on weapons sold in New York State, and most of the gun violence in New York involves weapons smuggled in from other states!
What a circle-jerk, illogical waste of resources this is.
